The DLF IPL T20 match 11 was between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders and everyone expect this match as close one. But this match turned out to be one sided and the reason for bad performance of Kolkata Knight Riders said by media that Shahrukh Khan was not present that is why team had played so badly. I would say KKR was over hyped with 2 back to back matches which were played against weak teams.
Bangalore Royal Challengers played the first match with rather weak team and lost the match 1 very badly against KKR. Hyderabad Deccan Chargers was about to win the game against Kolkata Knight Riders but 2 bad overs by Deccan Chargers spoiled the show. Chennai Super Kings outplayed the KKR and it is bullshit that without Shahrukh Khan the team performed played badly. King Khan is neither coach of team nor captain of the team and it is all the rubbish gossips created by media.
M.S.Dhoni led the Chennai Super Kings team very well and proved that he is best captain than Dravid or Ganguly in T20 format. When Chennai Super Kings lost the first wicket of Partiv Patel, Dhoni came in front of Hussey & Raina and blasted the ball to all parts of the ground. But the knock of Mathew Hayden is highlight of the match. He scored 70 runs in just 48 balls and hit 6 fours & 3 huge sixes. I wonder what will happen in future matches when Hayden & Hussey leave to Australia. I hope Dhoni might be having some ideas… Dhoni blasted a quick 43 runs in just 27 balls (3 fours & 2 sixes), what a captains knock, I admire captains who wants to perform and show an example to the team members.
Ganguly (12 runs) had horrible match with Kolkata Knight Riders, nothing went right for him. First of all his form is big concern, he had to yet fire a big knock in the tournament. Ponting (out for zero) is out form and his duck outs are proving very costly for the team. Mc Cullum also could not score a big score and was out for 24 runs. David Hussey was duck out and this proved very costly for Knight Riders. Laxmi Ratan Shukla saved the team with his quick 42 runs in just 33 balls and I would rate his innings as one of the best knocks under pressure. Kolkata Knight Riders somehow managed to reach 147 in 20 overs. Jacob Oram bowled a superb spell and took the key wickets of Mc Cullum, Ricky Ponting & Kartik and won the Man of the match award. But the highlight was the spell bowled by Muttaih Muralidaran and his bowling figures shows 4 overs and gave away 12 runs but no wickets. Chennai Super Stars chased the target successfully in 17 overs and won the match in style…
Coming to the match 12 between Bangalore Royal Challengers vs Jaipur Rajasthan Royals was one sided match. Royal challengers batting failed once again and Rahul Dravid opining the innings is not a good idea in my opinion. Rahul Dravid was out for duck and one stage his team was struggling to post a good competitive score for Rajasthan Royals. Ross Taylor and Praveen Kumar batted superbly and helped the Royal Challengers to reach a score of 135 in 20 overs which was not a good score to defend. Shane Watson opened the bowling for Rajasthan Royals and the first ball of the innings Rahul Dravid got out and Royal Challengers lost the first wicket without score on the board. Shane Watson took the wicket of S Chanderpaul and when he came to bat he just blasted all the bowlers of Bangalore Royal Challengers including Anil Kumble. He was awarded Man of the match which was right choice.
Finally, many of the Australia, New Zealand and West Indies players will leave the DLF IPL because of Australia is touring West Indies but some sources say that ACB (Australian Cricket Board) had given special permission for Australian players who are playing IPL. I feel sorry that new faces are not performing well because many of the players belong to U 19 team which won the ICC World Cup 2008 and these players have no experience in T20 format. I hope with exit of big foreign players from IPL these youngsters will get good chance to perform better. That’s all for now folks….
