Using technology and especially social networking sites to communicate with friends and sharing views has always been a favorite pastime for youngsters. Now senior citizens are also using social networking site as a medium to communicate with world. Though Orkut and Facebook are the most popular social networking sites, Verdurez.com, is a site especially dedicated for senior citizens. The main objective to introduce this site is to fill happiness and reduce loneliness which is common in retired people. Through this site one can connect with fellow senior surfer and can enjoy sharing views in the communities. The promoter of this site says we are getting positive feedback from the people after joining the site.

There's no harm in welcoming elders, and I'm sure in case they are told about the cyberworld, they will enjoy. We did read about world's oldest blogger, and some of the elders are actively in Orkut, Facebook or just twitting!
waise aisi koi site banane ki koi jaruur ho aisa mujhe to nahi lagta... there are already many social-networking sites.. then they are making social-networking sites especially for elders, something strange..
agree with crazy, i dont think there is any need for it, within current social networks they can always form a community of old people.
as far as i think, this site is not going to work

i agree ..theres really no point as not many senior citizens access net ...
its a lil ahead of time ..
i think the senior citizens are already very 'cut-off' from the people of their own family.. they need more human contact. online social networking can help fill in the void but its not a solution

ye special site banane ka matlab ku6 aisa hi hai.. is site ke banne se yaar.. jo hona chahiye wo nahi hoga, lekin jo log feel karte hai ki THEY ARE AGED NOW,, will join,,
jo log abhi bhi jeena chahte hai.. (about 99 over 100 elders) wo to kabhi ye site join karne ka sochenge hi nahi.. i think..
may be mera thinking galat ho. lekin yahan india me to yaar koi budha hona hi nahi chahta,, fir ye budhape wali site join kyun karega koi?
@ crazy, why are you so upset about this post about a social networking site. I have written a news item and take it easy. No one is separating seniors from our lives. Verdurez is a site which is dedicated only for senior citizens. If you read my post, I did not say anything offending or separated senior citizens. So, it is just one more social networking site but their main objective is to fill happiness and reduce loneliness for retired people.. Anyone can join that site..

I guess I qualify to be a member of this new site. I will check it out. However, being somewhat busy with all sorts of commitments, I don't think loneliness has so far been my problem.
