Marfa Lights

In a sparsely populated area known as Mitchell Flat, located just outside Marfa, Texas, a genuine mystery has baffled geologists and other scientists alike for over a century. At the base of the Chinati Mountains, spook lights are often seen by passersby and by interested onlookers who travel to Marfa to witness the phenomena. They often appear to look like lanterns in the distance, sometimes up to 30 miles away. Many, who have tried, were not able to get closer to the mysterious lights. They always seem to move farther away, the closer a person gets.

There are not many conflicting stories of what the lights are or how they came to be. Some say they are ghosts, others believe them to be some sort of weird atmospheric or geological phenomenon. However, there is a story of two geologists witnessed some strange events while prospecting for uranium on March 19, 1973. The pair was sitting in their car when suddenly, some horses in a nearby field started acting erratically and bolted away. Seconds later, a ball of light rapidly shot from the southwest, with another ball of light chasing behind it. Both lights were about the size of a persons head and they chased one another through some bushes and then, they sat still and hovered for a few seconds before darting off and vanishing from sight.

The first recorded case of sighting these strange lights took place in the year of 1883, reported by Mr. Plumbley. Mr. Plumbley's daughter, Julia, still lives in the area today and takes offense to people who offer explanations of the lights. The locals of Marfa, Texas are very proud of their lights and they do not take kindly to those who disbelieve.

Helpline from June 15 to stop ragging

Though they are strict anti-ragging rules, still cases are reported where junior student are becoming prey of brutal ragging by their seniors. The recent cases reported death of a medical student in Himachal Pradesh where he was beaten in the name of ragging and in another case a student was almost blinded.

After the death of Aman Kachroo a medical student his father had proposed a helpline to check ragging. By June15, 2009 a toll free 24X7 helpline will be placed which is announced by the University Grants Commission which will follow rules. The rule to be termed as the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. The rules are applied to all universities under the Central or State Act and all deemed universities.

Within 15 minutes of a complaint on ragging in an institution, the head of the institution will be reported and will be asked for an action taken report (ATR). It is also seen that the HRD Ministry, UGC and the parents of the complainant are not informed about this as they may come in the way for taking any action. Hope this helpline may curb the brutal ragging cases to some extent. What do you say about it friends. Feel free to leave your views and that's all for now, signing off with love..

Crossing a railway track made her regret for whole life!!!

Every morning, thousands of people travel through local trains and many break the rules by cross the railway track which sometime end tragic. Daily lot of accidents is recorded due to negligence by public. One such case is Pushpa Gujrathi who met an accident while crossing a railway track, who regrets still for not thinking before crossing railway track.

A resident of Kalyan, Pushpa to save time took risk of crossing the track at Mulund station which made her hospitalize. Her bones where broken and she permanently lost, control of bowel movement. While crossing in hurry, she slipped down and from the moving train a rod pierced her back. To fix the damaged bones of spine and ribs she has to undergo six operations and she has to carry colostomy bag for the rest of the life as her rectum was damaged and she do not have control over bowel movement. And after many years after the accident doctor detected another injury on her skull which took many days to recover. After such an accident Pushpa says, I am fortune as I didn't lose my limbs, this is a second life for me. Her husband was in huge debt while she was undergoing the treatment and Jyothi (elder daughter) had to take her mother's responsibility which made her difficult to cope up with studies.

Pusha Gujarathi is just one example and is lucky to survive after such a horrible incidence, there are number of such cases which occur daily due to breaking the rules. People should understand that rules are for their safety and breaking the rules may even cost their lives... thanks for reading this story with patiences, will come up with more, until then signing off with love..

Chris Brown Domestic Violence on his Girl friend

Hi friends, R&B singer Chris Brown was in news recently for wrong reasons. His girlfriend Rihanna has filed a domestic violence case with LAPD (Los Angeles Police Department).

What ever, I was very sad that he had committed the crime and I hate people who hit women. According to media, Rihanna started an argument with Chris when they both were coming home from pre-Grammy party. Rihanna picked up Chris phone and discovered a THREE-PAGE text message from a woman he’d had a previous sexual relationship with. Chris stopped the car and attempted to push Rihanna out the car but it did not work because she was wearing seat belt. Chris then hit her face to window of the car and started punching on her face. Blood started falling all over in the car and on the dress of Rihanna.

See how badly she was beaten Chris even went to an extent of killing Rihanna, luckily she screamed very loudly. Suddenly Chris stopped hitting her and left the car, Rihanna soon reported the incident to LAPD. A case was booked on Chris Brown for domestic violence and he was taken to police station for questioning. Chris Brown was later released on bail after paying $ 50,000. Chris and Rihanna were about to give live performance on Grammy awards but had to skip their performance on the awards ceremony because of this incident. Finally, I want to conclude that Chris Brown’s actions were very immature and foolish actions. I lost respect on him because of this incident. I hope he changes his attitude towards women and give respect and take respect....
