Good show against the world Champions

Hi friends, to win a One Day Internationals against the Australia, any team have to first perform well in all the departments like good fielding, batting & most important thing is bowling. Aussies team can bat up to number 11 and had showed it against the Sri Lanka, Australia lost the 9th wicket at the score around 141 approx. But the last wicket pair of Brett Lee (37) & Bracken (14 not out) took the Australian team’s score close to 221 & lost the game by 13 runs. So when playing against Australia one should not thing they have won the game unless you make all the 10 players out.

Sri Lanka played the game very positively against the Australian team. First of all they (Sri Lanka) put up a good total on the board after the top order of the Sri Lanka collapsed. But Jayawardena (51) & Dishan (61) has put a very good partnership and saved the Sri Lanka from yet another poor batting performance. C Silva played a cameo but the tail of Sri Lanka could not drag the total to 250 but end up with a reasonable total of 221.

Australian openers Gilchrist (83 off 50 balls) & Hopes started a first wicket partnership of 107 runs without loss of any wicket and everybody thought that Australia is cruising to victory. But the 2 openers departed after good partnership and suddenly the middle order of the Australian team collapsed. The Sri Lanka bowlers pitched the ball at right areas to get rid of the players like Ponting, Clarke, Hussey, etc. Symonds got out to a wide ball & he was duck out. Ponting, Gilchrist, Symonds, Hussey & Clarke are the main batsman without them it is hard for Australian team to win the game. But I was wrong again the match turned towards the Australian team’s way. Brett Lee & Bracken took the Australian team close to the winning target with 14 more need in 13 balls but Jayasuriya bowled a beauty which was not short enough to pull the ball. But Brett Lee tried to pull ball and missed it. He was clean bowled and the Sri Lanka team won the game very narrowly. Australia was bowled out for 208 in 48.1 overs. Mathew Hayden was rested for this match.

Both India & Sri Lanka were able to win the game against the Australians because of Aussies overconfidence & poor form of players like Ponting, Symonds & Hussey. The Indian & Sri Lankan teams improved the fielding & bowling very drastically and not allowing the Aussies batsman to get away with a flyer. Only in the one game Australia scored more than 300 runs & India chased it but lost the game narrowly. So other teams also should plan well & stop the dominance of Australian cricket team in the World Cricket.

Indian colts are the New ICC World Cup Champs

Hi Friends,
Indian cricket teams both seniors & juniors made public of India happy with a good wins on a super Sunday. First the Indian seniors who beat Australia in CB Tri Series, SCG, Australia and then Indian Under-19 cricket team won the ICC World Cup after eight years. A trilling 12- run victory was registered over the South Africa in a rain affected final in Kinrara Oval, Kuala Lumpur on 2nd March that is yesterday. Indian Under-19 team won this tournament for the second time, having captured the crown in 2000 in Sri Lanka under the captaincy of Md. Kaif.

India was first put into bat and wicket was more suited to bowlers. India was bowled out for 159 in 45.4 overs, but Indian bowlers came to the party and restricted the South Africans to 103/8 in 25 overs after the target was adjusted to 116 because of rain delay. It was unfortunate that South Africans loss the game so closely.

Man of the match was given to Ajitedh Argal who turned the match for India by taking 2 early wickets. His quota was reduced to five overs due to the rain interruption. Ravinder Jadeja (2-25) & Siddarth Kaul (2-26) also bowled superb line & length to keep the South African batsman in check & did not allow them to score freely.

Reeza Hendricks (35) and Wayne Parnell (29) were the main batsmen who scored for the South Africans but they were also not allowed to score freely by the tight line of the Indian bowlers. Chasing 160 for victory in 50 overs, Proteas were 17 for 3 in 18.4 overs when rain interrupted. R Henricks was batting on 7 while J Vandiar, the other batsman on crease, was yet to open his account. The target was revised later to 116 in 25 overs according to the D/L formula.

India’s batting collapsed to the disciplined South African bowling and agile fielding. India was dismissed for just 159 in 45.4 overs. The top scorer was Tanmay Srivastava 46 (74 balls, 4x4, 1x6) and the remaining Indian batsman did not contribute much because of brilliant bowling of the Proteas. Wayne Parnell was the strike bowler for South Africans, he claiming two wickets conceding only 21 runs. Matthew Arnold and Roy Adams also scalped two victims apiece.

Tauwar Kohli (1) was first to go & then India lost 3 quick wickets. There were hardly any significant partnerships thereafter and the biggest partnership was worth only 47, between Srivastava and skipper Virat Kohli (19). But after that stand, wickets kept falling and the South African fielders kept them under pressure and affected two run-outs.

George Barnes the Proteas Wicketkeeper was at his best, claiming three catches and affecting a run-out. Indian team after scoring such a low score needed a special effort in the field to claim the World Cup. India did it in style and some credit goes to the team coach D Whatmore. He trained the team like an international team. During the presentations the rain came back heavily & the ceremony was finished off very quickly.

Comic star tintin will be filmed in three-movie series

Thomas Sangster a schoolboy from south London will be playing the role of comic star Tintin. Steven Spielberg has chosen Thomas for his three-movie series of Tintin, adaptation of the boy reporter’s adventures.

The trilogy of Tintin will be likely to give the 17 years old the same name & fame like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) or Elijah Wood, who got fame with his role as Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings series.

Herge’s- Tintin books are one of the most popular and 200 million copes were sold around the world. Along with Tintin, Captain Haddock is another popular character in the comic version. The production team has chosen to cast Andy Serkis as Captain Haddock.

Spielberg is working with famous director Peter Jackson (Director of the Lord of Rings & King Kong) on how to make tintin the comic hero in to a real life one. Tintin trilogy will be releasing as the first film in 2010 & already both the actors spent a week in Los Angels & discussed the scenes with director.

Sangster said to media that he never read the book of Tintin because he never likes reading any books. But he said that “he watched the cartoon episodes and loved it very much”.

The director of the film did not reveal which among the 23 Tintin stories will be filmed. Spielberg will direct the first movie & Jackson will direct the second movie. The third movie director is unknown. The latest 3D technology will be used in the filming by the directors.

Parents and child

Roots
stuck in the quiet earth
buried they lay
sending their inner self
shooting up
in precise majesty
to stand in a
stately form
the tree…

Roots,
Their beauty is seen
in the lithe green
of the tender leaves
in the
young ecstasy
of the opening buds..

Roots
In a solemn silent voice
sing to the sun
a ‘balmy song
filling the air
with a mystic tranquility
sending covenants
to nurture
the tender sapling
filling it with
life sustaining energy

Yet
roots
are never remembered
when the tree
is venerated, praised
The tree too thinks
“I am towering
over everything
sky and stars are
within my reach”

when boughs and leaves
wan and pale over the years
when the trunk
is filled with indents and scars
when happy prime
is not the clime
The tree
seeks some succor
vitality and vigour
from
its caring custodians
the deeply holding roots…

Parents and child
Roots and tree
This is the
Mystery of life…
